The old new player is back in town. Once at the height of portable storage with Zip and Jazz drive, iomega is back and this time with an arsenal of products to take over the industry. Merging with EMC and having an enterprise class storage giant as the acquiring company makes the partnership even more sweeter to the consumer.

I finally got my shipment of the iPad 3G from Apple store and USunlocked last saturday 8th of April 2010. I had it for a whole 2 days before loaning it out to my friend David Chieng from SPH so that they can do a feature on the iPad 3G for June Edition of the Hardware Magazine HWM. So if you see a video and pic of it, it’s likely the same one you see here.
What’s in this video is I will show you the stuff I bought for the iPad and the iPad shipment itself from USUnlocked. As a first part of the whole iPad Experience Series, you will see how I unboxed the package, skinning the iPad with a screen protector, the iPad Cases and Sleeves.
The highlight of this episode is that on video I will show you how I cut and shaved down a standard sim into a MicroSim format and made the iPad 3G work on Singtel 3G, my current iPhone Data provider. Enjoy the video and don’t forget to leave your comments.

theITChannel Podcast is 1 year old and we are still growing strong. We started on Earth Hour in 2009 and we celebrated our very first anniversary this Earth Hour. We have recorded over 70 hours chatter among us and if you download every episode and play them, you can drive from Singapore to Vietnam and we would still be talking. We would also like to appreciate all you listeners and thanx for your continued support.
This week we covered the Malaysian Unifi Triple Play Service from Telekom Malaysia and how it will affect Malaysia’s broadband usage and at the same time provide some competition to Astro with their IPTV service. Telekom being the monopoly in Malaysia, there isn’t really any competition for a triple play service.
We also talked about the impending iPad shipping and how we can get one here in Asia. We wonder why is Apple making it so difficult for asians to get any of these new tech. Actually almost every company does that to us. Well I hope we develop something in asia that we will not ship to the US until a later date. Go Japan!
The biggest issues or complains users make in most smart phones today is the issue of Multi-Tasking. It’s also a fine balance between functionality and battery life. We have identified situations where we need multi-tasking and when we do not need them the question remains, do we truly need it on a mobile device and should it function like a desktop multi-tasking?
We then talked about Twestival in Singapore. An Amazing event and support from the social network/media community.
